Strong Start Carries Him Through a Solid Half Samuel Fury covered the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:47:39, an 8:13 min/mile pace. That's a notable step up from his 2025 Boulderthon Marathon finish of 4:14:56, a 9:43 min/mile pace, though the two distances aren't directly comparable. His race was front-loaded: the first four miles ticked by at 7:22-7:29 pace, his fastest running of the day, before settling into the 7:46-8:37 range through the middle miles. The final 5K slowed further to the 8:51-9:16 range as fatigue set in, but he held on well enough to close in 1:47:39. This year's half course carried nearly 50% less elevation gain than in past editions, a notable factor given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet.
