Steady Start, Gritty Rally: A Tale of Two Halves Emily Guerra crossed the line in 2:36:48 for the half marathon. She opened with remarkable consistency, covering the first five miles between 10:16 and 11:16 per mile, holding an elapsed pace under 10:50 through the midpoint. A tough middle stretch from miles 6 through 8 slowed her rhythm considerably, but she rallied over the final five miles, clicking off splits as quick as 10:14 and 10:15 to close out the race with renewed strength. That late surge came right around the course's lululemon Power-Up Zone, positioned near mile 9.5 of the half and Emily's data shows her finding her footing again in exactly that stretch, dropping from a 12:32 elapsed pace back toward 11:59 by the finish. Her last mile, covered in 10:15, stood as her fastest full mile of the back half, a strong way to finish on the Pearl Street Mall.
