Steady Pacing Ends in a Strong Closing Mile Ethan Xipto covered the half marathon in 1:41:50, an average pace of 7:46 per mile. After an opening mile at 8:04, he settled into a consistent 7:457:59 rhythm through the middle miles, holding tight control of his effort across the bulk of the course. His final mile, run in 7:21, was his fastest of the race, closing out a strong finish in downtown Boulder. Xipto's race played out at over 5,000 feet of elevation, a backdrop for the entire Boulder course. His finish came on the same Pearl Street Mall stretch that concludes every distance at the event, capping a well-paced effort that showed strongest legs right when the course headed for home.
