Strong Finishing Kick Seals a Top-Tier Half Marathon Michael Ripley crossed the line in 1:31:34, finishing 158th overall and 133rd among men in the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon a mark placing him in the top tier of the field. Ripley opened briskly, covering the first three miles in under 21 minutes before easing through a mid-race stretch of high-7:00s splits between miles 7 and 9. He then rallied over the final two miles, clocking 6:44 and 6:40 to close at a 6:42 pace across that stretch, well under his overall 6:59 average. That surge, sustained at altitude in a city sitting above 5,000 feet, capped a race defined by a fast start, a measured middle, and a decisive finish. A slightly more even middle third could help him carry his early rhythm further into the back half next time.
