Strong Start Fuels a Near-Identical Personal Best Alessandro Houshmand finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:28:24, placing 114th overall and 100th among men out of the field of 7,223. That time essentially matches his 1:28:14 from 2025 and marks a sharp improvement over his 1:36:22 in 2023. Houshmand went out fast, covering the first six miles in 38:30 a 6:25 average pace before settling into the high-6:00s and low-7:00s through the middle and closing miles. That opening six-mile stretch stands as the fastest sustained running of his race. His pace eased through miles 7 through 11, including the section around mile 9.5, near where the lululemon Power-Up Zone sits on the half marathon course, before he closed with a 6:45 mile 12. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Houshmand might consider working on maintaining his early rhythm deeper into future races.
