Strong Pace Through the Field, Capped by a Top-10% Finish Joshua Perez completed the half marathon in 1:40:27, placing 375th overall and 299th among men out of the field of 7,223 a top-10% result. His mile splits held tightly in the 7:30s and 7:40s for most of the race, with a clear surge from mile 4 through mile 6, where he clocked a race-best 7:28 mile. A brief dip to 7:56 at mile 11 was followed by a strong rebound, closing out the final two miles at 7:30 and 7:39. That mile 6 stretch stood out as his fastest of the day, a notable push considering it came in Boulder's thin air above 5,000 feet. He carried his effort into the Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, holding a 7:48 pace before rallying to 7:33 the following mile a sign of good composure through the second half.
