Strong Finishing Kick Fuels Steady Half Marathon David Wolfand completed the half marathon in 1:53:44, finishing 1044th overall and 725th among men out of the field of 7,223. His race opened conservatively, with the first two miles ticking off at 10:05 and 10:33, before settling into a steady rhythm of low 8:20s to high 8:30s pace through mile eight. A brief rise to 10:10 at mile nine interrupted the rhythm, but Wolfand answered with his strongest stretch of the day miles ten through thirteen covered in just under 32 minutes, near an 8:00 pace, capped by a closing mile in 7:31, his fastest of the race. That surge carried him into downtown Boulder and across the finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall, a strong way to cap a race run at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
