Strong Closing Miles Power a Steady Half Marathon Finish Dylan Unger completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:50:15, finishing behind his 2025 time of 1:44:04 over the same distance. His pace held in a tight band through the middle miles, dipping to 8:56 at mile 8 before he answered with a strong close, running miles 11 through 13 in a combined 24:42 an average of about 8:14 per mile the fastest sustained stretch of his race. Unger's 2026 result came on a half marathon course redesigned this year, cutting net elevation gain nearly in half, from 384 feet to 203 feet, all finishing on the Pearl Street Mall at over 5,000 feet of altitude. Given the steady rebound after mile 8, a touch more consistency through the middle miles could help him close the gap to his 2025 pace next time out.
