Steady Miles Build to a Strong Finishing Kick Sam Allin ran the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:48:01, holding a consistent pace through the middle miles before accelerating over the closing stretch. Allin's opening miles settled in the 8:32-8:39 range, and he held that rhythm through mile 9. From mile 10 onward, his pace dropped steadily, culminating in a 7:20 mile 12 his fastest full mile of the race. That surge carried him to the Pearl Street Mall finish with real momentum, a good sign of well-managed effort across the second half. Given the strength of that closing mile, he may find it worth experimenting with a slightly faster middle stretch in future races to see if he can carry that closing speed over more distance.
