Strong Start Fades Then Rallies Late Sebastian Ramsauer completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:43:26, an overall pace of 7:53 per mile. He opened briskly, covering the first six miles between 7:14 and 7:26 per mile, before easing through a slower middle stretch from miles 7 to 11, where splits climbed as high as 9:01. He closed with a strong finish, clocking 7:40 and 7:24 over the final two miles to bring his cumulative pace back down to 7:53. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Ramsauer's fastest mile-plus stretch came early, with the first six miles averaging roughly 7:26 per mile a pace he wasn't able to sustain through the middle miles, but one that speaks to a well-paced opening effort. His late surge over miles 12 and 13 suggests room to experiment with a more even effort through the middle miles in future races.
