Steady Early Pace Carries Through a Tiring Back Half Willa Mclaughlin completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 2:45:30, finishing at an overall pace of 12:38 per mile. Her first six miles were her strongest stretch, covering that opening 10K-plus segment in roughly 68:55, an average pace close to 11:29 per mile. From there, the pace settled into the 13:00-14:00 range per mile through the middle and later miles, a natural progression given the gradual elevation gain built into the course out toward Boulder Reservoir. She closed with a solid 12th mile at 13:43 before finishing strong on the historic Pearl Street Mall, a fitting cap to a race run at altitude in Boulder, sitting over 5,000 feet above sea level.
