Strong Start Fades Into a Steady Finish Lucy Hubbard covered the Boulderthon Half Marathon in 2:53:50, opening with a brisk 9:44 first mile and holding 9:52 pace through two miles before the effort settled into a steadier rhythm over the back half. Splits eased gradually from there, with per-mile times drifting into the 12- to 15-minute range as the race wore on, closing at an overall 13:16 min/mile pace. Those opening two miles stand as the fastest sustained stretch of her day, a pace she didn't revisit again before the finish. The course took her out past Boulder Reservoir and along the county backroads before funneling runners home on the Pearl Street Mall, all at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
