Steady Pace Through Boulder's Altitude Delivers a Solid Half Marathon Finish Barak Hirschowitz crossed the line in 2:18:49, good for 1,726th among men in a field of 7,223. His race unfolded in two distinct halves: a strong, controlled early stretch through miles 4-6, where he held a tight 10:00-10:01 per-mile pace, was followed by a natural easing through the middle miles, dipping to an 11:40 split at mile 11 before rallying over the final two miles to close in 10:22 and 10:59. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Hirschowitz passed through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5 as his pace began to soften, a common point for a dip given the thinner air. His ability to tighten the pace again in the closing miles speaks well of his finishing strength for future half marathons here.
