Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Alyssa Burgess #24542 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Steady Pacing Carries Her Home Through Pearl Street Mall Alyssa Burgess crossed the line in 2:49:03, opening with her fastest mile of the day at 11:26 and holding an elapsed pace near 12 minutes per mile through the halfway point. The middle miles cost her some rhythm, with a slower eighth mile pulling her overall pace back, but she rallied over miles 11 and 12, clocking a 12:17 split to tighten her pace back toward 12:54 by the finish. The race closed on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a finish that came after a course carrying roughly 203 feet of net elevation gain this year modest by comparison to prior editions, though still run at Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet. Her opening two miles remain the clear highlight of the day, a pace she wasn't able to fully recapture later, but one worth building from next time.
