Strong Finish Caps a Steady Half Chelsey Palmer completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:51:40, a step back from her 1:36:50 finish at the same event in 2023. She ran a tightly bunched effort through most of the course, holding between 8:13 and 8:34 per mile for the first ten miles before a dip to 9:23 in mile 11. She then closed with her strongest sustained running of the day, covering miles 12 and 13 at roughly 8:03 per mile the fastest mile-plus stretch of her race to bring her final pace to 8:31 per mile. Palmer's race came on the 2026 half course, redesigned with net elevation gain cut nearly 50 percent, from 384 to 203 feet, at Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet, before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
