His race settled into rhythm earlysplits sat in the 5:40s through the middle miles before a strong finish, with his fastest mile of the day at mile 12 (5:30), pulling him back toward the front after a slight midrace dip near miles 7-8. Norman's steady pacing paid off on a course now designed with meaningfully less climbing than in years past, following the 2026 half marathon route's nearly 50% cut in elevation gain. That adjustment, on a course that still sits above 5,000 feet in Boulder, likely aided the strong closing miles that defined his day.
