Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Michael Brennan #26211 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Steady Pace Holds Strong Through the Field's Top 5% Michael Brennan finished the half marathon in 1:38:13, placing 302nd overall and 247th among men out of the field. His first six miles were the fastest stretch of the race, clicking off between 7:13 and 7:24 per mile with almost no variance. A dip through miles 7-9 (7:37-7:47) marked the race's slowest patch before he rebounded over the closing miles, tightening back to 7:22-7:32 pace through the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, holding that tight a band of splits across the middle miles reflects well-managed effort. If there's one thing to work on, it's smoothing that middle-mile dip so the second half mirrors the control shown early on.
