Steady Effort Fades Late But Finishes Strong on the Mall Kindra Case completed the half marathon in 2:51:55. She opened briskly, covering the first two miles at an 11:32-11:33 pace, the fastest stretch of her race. From there, her per-mile pace steadily eased, climbing past 13 minutes by the middle miles and touching a high of 15:19 at mile eight before settling back down. She closed with a strong final mile at 13:31, pulling her cumulative pace back toward 13:07 min/mile at the finish. Case's race unfolded on a course that runs out past Boulder Reservoir and along Boulder County backroads before finishing on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a city sitting at over 5,000 feet of elevation a notable backdrop for maintaining pace across 13.1 miles.
