Steady Pacing Carries Him to a Strong Half-Marathon Finish Francisco Menchaca finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:39:42, placing 343rd overall and 277th among men out of the field of 7,223. His race unfolded in two distinct phases: a brisk opening five miles that dipped to a race-best 7:08 mile split at mile 5, followed by a gradual fade through the middle miles, bottoming out near 8:06 pace at mile 11 before rallying to a 7:21 final mile. Racing through downtown Boulder at just over 5,000 feet of elevation, Menchaca passed near the lululemon Power-Up Zone around mile 9.5 as his pace began to soften, a natural point to reset form. With his strong close, he might consider working on sustaining that early rhythm a bit longer next time out.
