Steady Pace Punctuated by a Fast Closing Kick Cavan Kessler completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:50:44, averaging 8:27 per mile across the 13.1-mile course through downtown Boulder, a city sitting above 5,000 feet in elevation. Kessler's pace stayed tight through the first eight miles, ranging between 8:20 and 8:43 per mile, before a dip to 10:15 for mile nine near the lululemon Power-Up Zone, positioned around the 9.5-mile mark on the half marathon course. He rebounded well over the closing miles, covering the tenth through thirteenth miles between 7:24 and 8:25, including a 7:24 split for mile twelve, his fastest of the race. That surge helped him finish strong on the Pearl Street Mall after a brief midrace lull.
