Faster Finish Than Last Year, Capped by a Strong Closing Mile Ben Duong ran 1:54:22 in the half marathon, improving on his 1:55:22 from 2025 and moving up in both the overall and 30-34 age-group fields. His overall pace also tightened slightly, from 8:48 to 8:43 per mile. The race opened briskly, with a 8:34 first mile, before settling into the high 8:40s through the middle miles as the elapsed pace crept from 8:41 to 8:49 by mile 11. From there, Duong turned in his strongest running of the day, covering mile 12 in 8:13 his fastest mile of the race and holding 8:18 through mile 13 to close in downtown Boulder. That late surge pulled his cumulative pace back down to 8:44, capping a race that got progressively better in its final stretch after the midrace dip.
