Steady Early Pace Fades Late as Cronk Finishes Just Off Last Year's Mark Byron Cronk completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:49:15, a touch slower than his 1:47:57 in 2025. His overall place slipped slightly, from 745th to 727th among a larger field this year. Cronk's race showed a strong front half: through 7 miles he held close to 7:57 per mile, reaching the midpoint in under 56 minutes. That opening stretch stands as his fastest mile-plus segment of the day. From mile 8 onward, his per-mile pace eased into the 8:20-9:15 range, settling his final elapsed pace at 8:20 per mile. With the half's net elevation gain trimmed this year, Cronk may find room to carry that early rhythm further into the back half next time.
