Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Nehemiah Gallegos #22726 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Steady Pace Carries Teen to Strong Half Marathon Finish Nehemiah Gallegos, 19, of Littleton, CO, finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:42:13, averaging 7:48 per mile. Gallegos ran a remarkably even race, holding between 7:53 and 7:57 pace through the middle miles before closing with his fastest mile of the day, a 6:50 split from mile 12 to 13. That final surge dropped his overall pace to 7:47 and reflected strong finishing strength. This late kick, coming after 12 miles at altitude in a city sitting above 5,000 feet, stands out as the highlight of his race. Given his consistency through the middle miles, Gallegos might consider experimenting with a slightly faster early pace in future races to see if he can bank more time before that strong closing kick.
