Steady Pacing Carries Her Through the Back Half Lauren Ross finished the half marathon in 2:15:47, an average pace of 10:21 per mile. Her mile splits stayed remarkably tight through the race, opening at 10:16 and closing at 10:21, with only modest fluctuation in between. The middle miles brought her sharpest running: miles 5 and 6 each clocked 9:51, pulling her cumulative pace down to 10:08 before it drifted back up slightly over the final miles. That consistency reflects well-managed effort across the full distance. Boulder's elevation, over 5,000 feet, adds context to a pace held so evenly across 13.1 miles. With the final miles landing right around her overall average, Ross showed good control late in the race. One area to consider for a future effort: building on that strong middle stretch could help sustain the faster pace deeper into the back half.
