Steady Pacing Powers a Top-Tier Half Finish Miguel Garcia crossed in 1:37:40, good for 286th overall and 233rd among men out of the field of 7,223 at the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon. His mile splits held in a tight band through most of the race, hovering between 7:14 and 7:39, before he closed with one of his strongest miles late, running mile 13 in 7:12 to finish with confidence rather than fade. That final surge came just past the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, where his pace had eased slightly into the 7:40s before he reeled it back in over the closing miles. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, holding pace that consistently across the back half is a strong sign of well-managed effort. If there's one area to sharpen next time, it's smoothing out that mid-race dip between miles 6 and 9 to carry more of that closing strength throughout.
