Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Amir Albarq #26551 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Steady Climb Through the Field, Capped by a Sub-8:00 Surge Amir Albarq finished the half marathon in 1:47:58, placing 664th overall and 491st among men out of the field of 7,223. That result lands him inside the top 10 percent of the entire field, a strong showing. Albarq's race built steadily: after opening near 8:38-8:40 pace through the first two miles, he settled into a rhythm in the low 8:20s before dropping decisively faster over miles 9 and 10, splitting 7:52 and 7:49 his best sustained stretch of the day. He closed with another sub-7:40 mile at mile 12 before easing to the finish. Racing at altitude, with Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet, that late-race quickness stands out. The course's run toward Boulder Reservoir before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall gave him a strong stage for that surge.
