Strong Start Fuels a Faster Finish Mario Ciabarra ran 1:32:36 at the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon, finishing 176th overall and 145th among men in a field of 7,223 comfortably improving on his 1:34:35 from the 2024 race by nearly two minutes. His race was front-loaded: the first six miles clicked off between 6:34 and 6:54 per mile, the fastest stretch of his day, before a natural settling through miles 711 as pace eased into the 7:117:45 range. He answered with a strong close, dropping back to 7:06 and 7:13 over the final two miles to seal the finish. Much of that effort came at altitude, with Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet, before he carried his rhythm onto the Pearl Street Mall for the finish. Given the early pace he banked, holding a touch more of that intensity through the middle miles could be a useful target for next time.
