Steady Start Fuels a Slight Improvement Over Last Year Dick Longrod ran 1:44:11 in the half marathon, trimming 17 seconds off his 2025 Boulderthon finish of 1:44:28. Both races unfolded similarly, with Longrod holding a tight 7:56 pace through 13.1 miles in each. His strongest stretch came early, covering miles 1 through 6 at an average pace of 7:36 per mile before easing slightly through the middle miles, then closing with an 8:03 final mile. This year's course also came with lighter climbing: total elevation gain for the half was cut by nearly 50 percent, dropping from 384 to 203 feet. That change lines up with the pace Longrod carried through the middle miles, where his numbers held firmer than in the previous year's race.
