Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Alex Braun #26484 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Even Pacing Bookends a Mid-Race Wobble Alex Braun finished the half marathon in 2:36:55, an average pace of 11:58 per mile. He opened with a tight band of miles between 11:04 and 12:06 through the first five miles, showing consistent effort early. A sharp slowdown hit mile six, before he settled back into rhythm, covering the final seven miles in roughly 11:31 per mile nearly matching his opening pace and closing with his fastest mile of the back half, an 11:01 finish into the last stretch. That recovery carried him through the Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, one of the course's key markers, before the run down into downtown Boulder, where the half marathon finishes on the historic Pearl Street Mall at over 5,000 feet of elevation. The rebound after the mile-six dip stands out as the strongest segment of his race.
