He ran the back half faster than the front, dropping his mile splits into the 6:0X range over the final two miles after settling near 6:45 pace through the middle miles. Splits held steady between 6:38 and 6:58 through the first eight miles before he found another gear, running mile 12 in 6:05 his fastest mile of the race as he passed through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5. That surge carried into the finish on the Pearl Street Mall, capping a race run at altitude in Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet.
