Strong Start Fuels a Top-20 Overall Finish Tom Robey crossed the line in 1:15:51, good for 20th overall and 20th among men in a field of 7,223. That result placed him solidly among the day's fastest half marathon finishers. His race opened briskly, with a 5:10 opening mile and a first five miles covering in 27:32 a 5:30 average pace that stood as the fastest sustained stretch of his day. The middle miles eased into the 6:006:08 range before he tightened things up over the closing two miles, closing in 5:40 and 5:47. That finish carried him onto the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a city sitting above 5,000 feet of elevation, capping a well-paced effort from start to finish.
