Steady Start Gives Way to a Grinding Back Half Maggie Clarke, 22, of Boulder, finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 3:06:24, well off her 2:08:06 from the 2023 running of the same event. Her race opened strong, with the first two miles clicking off at a 10:50 pace, the fastest sustained stretch of her day. From there the pace eased steadily, climbing past 12- and then 13-minute miles through the middle miles, before miles 11 and 12 slowed to roughly 19:30 each, the toughest stretch of the race. Clarke would have passed through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, right as her cumulative pace crossed the 13-minute mark, before closing out the final mile with a rebound to a 17:15 split. The finish on the Pearl Street Mall capped a course that, at altitude above 5,000 feet, tested pacing discipline throughout.
