Strong Pace Held Through Altitude, Finished with a Late Surge Nathan Prete finished the half marathon in 1:34:12, placing 206th overall and 169th among men in a field of 7,223. Prete's race unfolded evenly through the first ten miles, holding between 6:54 and 7:20 per mile before a dip to 7:59 in mile 11. He answered immediately, rebounding to 7:06 and 6:57 over the final two miles to close strong into downtown Boulder. That closing pair was the fastest mile-plus stretch of his race, a solid finish after the mid-race lull. Running at altitude in Boulder, sitting over 5,000 feet, his sub-7:15 average pace across the full 13.1 miles reflects well-managed effort from start to the Pearl Street Mall finish.
