Steady Pacing Powers a Strong Half-Marathon Finish Ian Barrett crossed the line in 1:33:56, good for 201st overall and 164th among men in a field of 7,223 at the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon. His even 7:10 min/mile average reflected a race run with remarkable control from start to finish. Barrett's mile splits hovered tightly between 7:01 and 7:29 for the majority of the race, showing little drop-off despite Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet. He found his best rhythm over the final mile, closing in 7:02 after a strong 7:01 twelfth mile, a fitting finish following his pace through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, where he held a consistent 7:10-7:11 clip. That late surge capped a well-managed effort with negative-split energy down the stretch into the Pearl Street Mall.
