Strong Start Fuels a Top-3% Half Marathon Finish Veronica Boches, 39, of Denver, finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:34:31, placing 211th overall and 39th among women in a field of 7,223. Her race opened fast, with the first six miles ticking by at an average pace of 6:55 per mile the quickest sustained stretch of her day. The middle miles eased into the 7:20s-7:40s before she closed with a strong final two miles, dropping back to 7:03 and 7:14 to finish just off her early pace. Boches' race unfolded on a half marathon course redesigned for 2026, with net elevation gain trimmed to 203 feet a notable adjustment given Boulder's 5,000-plus-foot elevation. Her steady early miles set a foundation that carried her through to a strong overall placement in the field.
