Negative Splits Fuel a Top-10% Half Finish Leo Puckett crossed the line in 1:45:34, an 8:03/mile pace, placing 563rd overall and 424th among men in the field of 7,223 at the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon. His race built steadily: after an opening mile of 9:06, he trimmed his cumulative pace nearly every mile, dropping to 8:03 by the finish, a clear sign of a smart, patient effort. His strongest mile came late, a 7:00 split at mile 12, the fastest full mile of his race and a strong close before easing slightly to 7:12 over the final mile. That surge came just after the course's lululemon Power-Up Zone, positioned around mile 9.5 of the half, adding a jolt of energy to his closing stretch through the Boulder backroads toward the Pearl Street Mall finish.
