Cody Shaves 13 Minutes Off His 10K Cody Morales ran the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 56:03, a 13-minute improvement over his 1:09:16 finish at the same event in 2025 and a jump from 11:10 to 9:02 per mile. Morales built his race on a strong middle stretch, covering miles 2 through 5 between 8:34 and 8:39 per mile, holding elapsed pace near 8:43 through the bulk of the course before easing to a 10:33 close. That opening five miles, run at over 5,000 feet of altitude in Boulder, stands as the fastest sustained stretch of his day. His race ended on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting finish to a well-paced effort. If there's a place to build next time, it's carrying that mid-race rhythm through the final mile.
