Steady Pace Anchors a Solid 10K Effort Scott Pritchard finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 55:04, just slightly off his 54:27 from the 2024 race. His pacing built gradually through the first four miles, easing from 8:32 to 9:02 per mile as cumulative pace crept from 8:32 to 8:43. Mile five was his standout stretch, dropping to 8:28 his fastest mile of the race before the final mile slowed to 9:56 as he approached the finish. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Pritchard's mid-race surge in mile five stands out as the highlight of an otherwise consistent effort. With his pacing bookended by a strong opening and a hard-fought close, there may be room to explore holding that mile-five rhythm a bit longer next time.
