Strong Start Fades Late in Boulder 10K Axel Garfio finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 59:07. He opened fast, covering the first two miles in roughly 8:05 pace each before easing through the middle miles. The final two miles slowed further, with mile five and six each taking over 11 minutes, pulling his overall pace to 9:32 per mile by the finish. The opening two miles stand out as his strongest stretch, run confidently before the pace gradually eased across the back half of the course. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet adds context to the effort, especially given the early pace he carried through the first two miles before settling into a steadier rhythm for the remainder of the race.
