Strong Start Carries Steady 10K Finish Michael Alcorn completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 58:00, finishing fifth in the men's 60-64 division. He opened with a swift first mile in 7:44, then settled into a steady rhythm through the middle miles, holding paces between 8:25 and 9:39 as the race wore on before a final mile that slowed to 11:30. Alcorn's opening mile stood out as his fastest stretch of the day, setting a strong tone early before the pace gradually eased over the remaining distance. That early speed reflects well against the effort required at Boulder's altitude, over 5,000 feet, where the 10K course carries runners toward a finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
