Strong Start Fades Late in Boulder 10K Debut Nicolette Hui Yi Sum covered the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 58:28, good for 37th in the F35-39 division. Her opening two miles were her fastest of the day, clicking off in 8:44 and 8:43, before the pace eased through the middle miles to 9:07 and 9:51. She steadied slightly over mile five at 9:28 before the final mile slowed to 10:36 as she carried through to the finish. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Sum's early rhythm held firm through the first two miles before the cumulative pace gradually climbed from 8:43 to 9:24 by the finish. Building a touch more patience into the third and fourth miles could help her carry that early speed further into the back half next time.
