That's a shade off his 2024 Boulderthon 10K result of 48:22, though both efforts held similar overall pacing. Abel opened fast with a 7:04 first mile, then settled into a rhythm between 7:23 and 7:50 through the middle miles before rebounding to a 7:28 fifth mile, his strongest stretch of the back half. The final mile eased to 9:15 as he approached downtown Boulder's Pearl Street Mall finish, a fitting close to a race run at elevation above 5,000 feet.
