Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Alan Almeida #32703 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Strong Start Carries Through a Steady 10K Effort Alan Almeida finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 48:24, placing 129th overall and 92nd among men in a field of 3,071 runners at the Boulder Reservoir-area race, which finished on the Pearl Street Mall. Almeida opened fast, covering his first mile in 6:58his quickest of the racebefore easing into a steadier rhythm. His cumulative pace crept from 6:58 to 7:48 by the finish, with each mile split gradually lengthening from 7:11 to 8:49 over the back half. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, holding sub-8:00 miles through mile five before the final stretch reflects a well-managed effort. A slightly more even pacing plan in the middle miles could help him carry more speed into the finish next time.
