Strong Start Carries Steady 10K Finish Melissa Jaso finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:00:16, an average pace of 9:43 per mile. Jaso opened fast, covering her first mile in 8:15 and holding that rhythm through mile two at 8:30 cumulative pace. From there her mile splits eased gradually, settling into the 9:30-10:20 range through miles three and four before a final mile that brought her overall average to 9:43. The opening two miles stood out as her strongest running of the race, well ahead of her eventual pace. Boulder's elevation, over 5,000 feet, adds a layer of difficulty to any effort at this distance, and Jaso's early pace reflects a solid response to those conditions before settling into a sustainable effort for the back half.
