Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Stefan Maus #30824 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Strong Start Fuels Steady Finish Stefan Maus completed the 10K in 1:02:24, an overall pace of 10:03 per mile. His race opened briskly, with back-to-back miles at 9:02 and 9:01, before easing through the middle miles and closing with a 12:12 final mile as the effort settled. That opening pair stood as the fastest sustained stretch of his day, anchoring the overall time despite the gradual pace shift over the second half. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet adds its own demand to any distance, and holding sub-9:05 miles early in that thin air reflects well on his pacing strategy. Given the strength of that start, he might consider a slightly more even split in future 10Ks to carry that early rhythm further into the back half.
