Strong Start Fades Late in Steady 10K Finish Luke Mach completed the 10K in 1:04:36, a pace of 10:25 per mile. His early miles set the tone for the race, as he opened with a strong first two miles at 9:14 and 9:09 per mile, showing solid control in the field. From there, his pace gradually eased mile-to-mile, settling into a steadier rhythm as the race progressed toward downtown Boulder. The opening two miles stood out as his fastest sustained stretch of the day, holding under 9:15 per mile before the pace gradually relaxed over the remaining distance. Every finisher crosses the line on the historic Pearl Street Mall, a fitting close to a race that began at over 5,000 feet of elevation in Boulder. With a measured, controlled effort throughout, Mach's race reflects a smart, sustainable approach worth building on for future 10K efforts.
