Steady Start Gives Way to a Tougher Finish Ed Matesevac completed the 10K at the 2026 Boulderthon in 1:01:18. His opening two miles were his strongest, clicking off at 9:13 and 9:16 per mile, before the pace eased through the middle miles to the 9:50-9:54 range. The final mile slowed further to 11:19, closing out the race with a steadier, more measured effort than his early miles. The race began at 8:10 AM in downtown Boulder, a course that finishes on the historic Pearl Street Mall at more than 5,000 feet of elevation. Given that early strength, Matesevac might look at finding a bit more consistency in the closing miles to match his fast start.
