A Strong Opening Mile Anchors a Steady 10K Effort Brett Dorren completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:30:44. His opening mile was his fastest, clocked at 10:08, before his pace settled into the 12:4418:40 range over the remaining five miles. Dorren's first mile stood out as the strongest stretch of his race, run nearly three minutes faster than his next-quickest split. From there, his cumulative pace gradually eased, finishing at 14:38 min/mile overall. Running at altitude in Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet, adds a layer of context to any pacing shifts across the course. With the finish landing on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, Dorren capped his race in one of the event's signature settings.
