Strong Middle Miles Power a Steady 10K Finish Kelsey Blackett covered the Boulderthon 10K in 59:59, settling into a rhythm after a 9:40 opening mile. Her pace tightened through miles two and three, clocking 9:03 and 8:55, the fastest stretch of her race, before a late fade in the final mile brought her home just under the hour mark. Running the course at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Blackett's cumulative pace held remarkably consistent through the first five miles, hovering between 9:12 and 9:16 per mile, before the finishing stretch into downtown Boulder slowed her overall average. That early-middle surge suggests she had more control over pace than fatigue in the closing miles a solid target for future 10Ks would be sustaining that mile two-three rhythm through the finish.
