Steady Early Miles Power a Solid 10K Finish Shawn Modar finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:03:47, an overall pace of 10:17 per mile. His early running was the highlight: the first three miles clicked by in roughly 9:39 pace each, keeping him well positioned through the midpoint. A slower fourth mile crept to 10:28, before he rallied with a 9:59 fifth mile, showing good recovery. The final mile eased to 12:14, a natural settling after a strong middle stretch. Racing at altitude, with Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet, adds weight to that consistent opening 5K. The pacing shape herequick out of the gate, a brief dip, then a reboundreflects solid course management. Shawn might consider working on sustaining that mid-race rhythm deeper into the closing miles for an even stronger finish next time.
